Today, in Wheaton, at the parsonage of Rev. H. C. Holt occurred the marriage of Frank W. Riddell and Miss Zada Witter, daughter of George Witter of Belvidere. While intimate friends knew of the approaching marriage of the two, the announcement comes as surprise to DeKalb folk generally. Mr. and Mrs. Riddell are leaving on a short wedding trip and will return here to make their home at First and Franklin streets. The bride in today's wedding is known to a number of local people. She was a resident of DeKalb for some months, and is esteemed by everyone who knows her. His position as chief of police has made Frank Riddell well known throughout this vicinity, and he has become better known since announcing his candidacy for sheriff. He is popular , an all round good fellow, and a member of one of DeKalb's oldest families. He received his education in the schools here and has always been and (sic) social life. Hosts of friends will welcome he and Mrs. Riddell on their return from their bridal trip.3

Charles Stiles and Mrs. Zada Riddell of Garden Prairie were married in DeKalb on Wednesday, Jan. 11. They are now on their way to San Antonio and Brownsville, Tex., where they will visit relatives.

Mrs. Stiles is the former Mrs. Frank Riddell of DeKalb. The couple will make their home at Garden Prairie.5

     The following newspaper article appeared in the DeKalb, Illinois Daily Chronicle 26 January 1956 :
In this article about the DeKalb Police Pension Board meeting, it was noted that Zada Riddell, widow of Frank Riddell, remarried on Jan 11 so she was removed from the pension list.7

     In the obituary of Charles Stiles who died 15 October 1957, his second wife, the former Zada Riddell was listed as a survivor.4

     She was born on 28 March 1867 at Saline County, Illinois, USA.4,1,8,9,2,5,7 Alternatively, she was born circa 1868 at Ireland.10 Anna married Robert Riddell on 6 September 1912 at Spokane, Washington, USA, according to Washington Marriage Certificate 14197.. . It was his first marriage, and her third marriage. He was from Victoria, B.C. and she was from King County, Washington.11,10,1,8,9,6,12
     She died on 17 January 1943 at her home at Centralia, Lewis County, Washington, USA, at age 75.4 The cause of her death was given as heart disease and probably myocarditis. She "died suddenly, no attendance."7 The informant on her death registration was.7 Anna Dillon Riddell was buried on 20 January 1943 at Calvary Cemetery, Seattle, King County, Washington, USA.7

Anne D Riddell and Robert Riddell appeared on the 1930 U.S. Federal Census of Centralia, Lewis County, Washington, enumerated 3 April 1930, enumerated as having no occupation. He had come to the US in 1889 but remained an alien..9

     Anna M Dillon was naturalized in 1898 at Canada.8      Anna M Riddell was listed as next-of-kin on his wife Robert's attestation (enlistment) papers.11 Anne D Riddell and Robert Riddell were included on a passenger manifest for the "Pr. Adelaide" dated 12 December 1921 arriving from Victoria, BC at Seattle, King County, Washington, USA. Their contact was her sister, Mrs. M. D. Brent of Seattle. They referenced W. Riddell of Toronto, Robert's brother, as their nearest relative in Canada. He reported having previously been in the US in Washington from 1889 to 1890, while she reported living in Illinois from 1867 to 1898. He was described as 6' tall with a medium complexion, brown hair and blue eyes. She was described as 5' 8" tall with a medium complexion, brown hair and brown eyes.13 Anna M Dillon and Robert Riddell immigrated in July 1922 to Seattle, King County, Washington, USA, from Victoria, B.C. They gave his brother, William Riddell of ?Geo? St., Toronto as their next-of-kin in Canada.14

On 19 March 1934, Anna and Robert moved from the US giving up their immigration status, presumably to return to Canada based upon a notation on their 1922 papers when they had immigrated to Seattle.14 She lived at British Columbia, Canada, in 1935.2 Anna Dillon Riddell immigrated on 14 July 1936 to Seattle, King County, Washington, USA, through Anacortes, Washington arriving on the "SS Quilcene" This is according to her Petition for Naturalization 23542.1 She was naturalized on 21 January 1937 at Seattle, King County, Washington, USA.1 She was the informant on the death registration of her husband, Robert Riddell.15,16,17,18
     Anna D Riddell, surviving widow of Seattle, was referenced, but not by name, in the obituary of her husband Robert Riddell who died 11 February 1938.19
