     David Moffat was christened circa 1816, possibly in Kirkpatrick Juxta Parish, at Dumfriesshire, Scotland.5 He was born circa 1816, possibly in Kirkpatrick Juxta Parish, at Dumfriesshire, Scotland.2,6,3
     David Moffat died on 9 April 1838 at Craigielands Village, Scotland, Mary Louise Young noted that David "remained in Scotland," but it is probably more accurate to say that he passed away before his siblings left for Canada.2,4,3
     He was a survivor of his father Robert who died in 1853.7,8,9

     George Moffat appeared on the 1841 British Census of at Dumfriesshire, Scotland, at Kirkpatrick Juxta Parish, in the household of his parents, Robert and Jeen Moffat.5
     Research notes:
This may be the same George Moffat living in West Huron in 1881 Census.8
