Deacon John Shepard, (18 November 1706–8 August 1783) was the son of Deacon John and Elizabeth (Woodruff) Shepard. He married Elizabeth Noble 20 May 1731 in Westfield, Mass. She was the daughter of Deacon Thomas and Elizabeth (Dewey) Noble.[1]

ELIZABETH NOBLE, daughter of Deacon Thomas Noble, was born in Westfield, Massachusetts, January 3, 1706, and there died on November 12, 1793, ae. 87. The number of her descendants at her death was 180, of whom 27 died before her.
She married on May 20, 1731, to Deacon JOHN SHEPARD, born at Westfield, Massachusetts, on November 18, 1706, son of Deacon John and Elizabeth (Woodruff) Shepard. He resided in Westfield, and there he died on August 8, 1783, ae 76.

1384...ELIZABETH SHEPARD, born April 24, 1732; married on May 2, 1751, Colonel Azariah Root of Sheffield, Massachusetts, and died on February 16, 1786, ae 53. He was a farmer and leather dealer, and died while in service during the American Revolution, July 3, 1777, ae. 48.
1385...JOHN SHEPARD, born November 8, 1733; married on March 6, 1725, to Elizabeth Sacket, and removed to Hebron, New York
