George Abbott of Norwalk Connecticut is not to be confused with
George Abbott Sr. (bef.1586-bef.1647) of Rowley, Mass., born 1586 -
George Abbott (1615-1681) of Andover, Mass.; born 1617 -
George Abbott Jr. (bef.1627-1689) of Andover, Mass. (son of George of Rowley), born 1627 -
Biography
George Abbott of Norwalk Connecticut was born in England and immigrated to Connecticut by 1640 as a servant. He was first recorded in Windsor as a boy when he was fined five pounds in court for selling a pistol and some powder to an Indian, which was a grievous crime. His fine was 5 pounds and was returned to his master[2][3][4][5] He was first in Windsor, Hartford and finally Norwalk.[4]
George's first wife was Mary Weed, daughter of Jonas Weed.[6][4][5] Mary is the mother of George's children[7]

Priscilla married Mr. Slauson,
Mary married Mr. Jackson,
Jonathan,
George who married Hannah
Daniel.
George's second wife was Mrs. Johanna Williamson of Boston, she pre-deceased George by about six years[6] [4]
George died at Norwalk July, 1689/90. His will was dated 2 May 1689 and probated / inventory filed 12 March 1690. All seven of George's children are mentioned [8]
Notes
"There is no complete list of the original settlers, but a table of 'Estates of lands and accomodations' in 1655 contains the names of the following inhabitants ... Abbitt, George .... The following notices of the first settlers of Norwalk I find in the Catalogue of the Names of the First Puritan Settlers of the Colony of Connecticut... Abbott, George - 1648* .... * date of first mention in the Colony Records."[9]
Dorothy Abbott and Dorcas Abbott may be the same person, but they are married to men with different first names (Darius Root and John Rootes) so it is not likely they can be merged. It appears that Dorcas is the correct daughter based on George's Probate record.[8]

John
Dorothy, married Darius Root,
Priscilla married Mr. Slauson,
Mary married Mr. Jackson,
Jonathan,
George who married Hannah
