Biography

Gustavus Adolphus Foudray was born circa 1851 in Fleming County, Kentucky.1,2
Note: Some sources suggest that another child named Augustus Adolphus Foudray was also born in 1851, but I am convinced that that person is the same as Gustavus Adophus Foudray who was born in 1851. In the 1860 Federal Census of Fleming County, Kentucky, only Gustavus (age 10) is listed.

*****. Gustavus Adolphus Foudray appeared on the census of 1860 in the household of William Derrick Foudray and Elizabeth Foudray in Fleming County, Kentucky, which lists William D. Foudray, 66, born in Pennsylvania; his third wife Elizabeth [Davis], 50, born in Virginia; his children Milton W., 12, born in Kentucky, Gustavus, 10, born in Kentucky, and Mounterville [sic], 6, born in Kentucky; and Granville Davis, 2, and Elmer D. Davis, 1 [evidently relatives, perhaps children, of Elizabeth Davis Foudray].1

Gustavus Adolphus Foudray appeared on the census of 1870 in Mount Carmell Precinct, Fleming County, Kentucky, Federal Population Schedule, page 458. He lived in 1878 in Mason County, Kentucky.3 He was a famer in 1878.

Subject: Living HUNTER and REESE in your family tree
Date: Wed, 23 Jun 2004
From: Mark Morgan

I am working on my family tree, and it appears to tangentially overlap with yours.

My great grandaunt, Ida MORGAN, married Richard E. HUNTER in Pennsylvania and moved to Miami, Florida. I believe his son, William LeGrand HUNTER, is the Living HUNTER shown marrying a Living REESE (Leah Katherine or Kathryn) on your tree. Can you confirm that?

If you are interested, I can provide some details on the HUNTER/MORGAN side.
