Birmingham, AL, USA, July 3, 1939 - Aug. 19, 2015 David Houghton, age 76, of Alabaster, Alabama passed away Wednesday night, August 19, 2015. He was a native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England. David worked as an engineer in the petroleum chemical and shipbuilding fields, with projects taking him throughout the United States and the world. David played golf all of his life, and it was a game he loved. He has served as a course marshall at Ballantrae Golf Course in Pelham, Alabama for the past 10 years. David was predeceased by his father and mother, David Houghton, Sr. and Lucy Hutchinson Houghton. Survivors include wife, Susan T. Houghton; one son, Michael Houghton (Alexandra); and one sister, Nancy Rudd. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015 in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham. Memorial gifts may be made to the Palliative Care and Comfort Unit at University of Alabama Hospital, Birmingham.

Loving mother of Colin (Andrea) Walker. Proud grandmother of Cristian Curtis Walker. Dear sister of Nancy (Michael) Grider, Kathy Spaan, Daniel (Stefanie) Walker and the late Joan Moe. Further survived by Colin's father, Enel Haughton, other relatives and friends Maggie was an intelligent, funny, and strong woman, who loved her family and friends dearly. She was a long time Civil Servant for the Milwaukee area, most recently at Milwaukee County Courthouse. She was an avid reader and traveler with a love for adventure. She had a deep appreciation for her Irish culture and enjoyed experiencing other cultures in her free time. Of all, her favorite moments were spent with her son and sisters or listening to reggae music with her grandson, Cristian. She will be greatly missed and loved by all she touched. Please join Maggie's family as they gather to celebrate her life at the Northshore Funeral Services Chapel on Saturday, August 29 from 2-5:00 PM. There will be a brief memorial ceremony at 3:00 PM.
