Thomas Madison Miller, age 64, of Strasburg, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Blue Ridge Inpatient Care Center, Winchester.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Stover Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jane Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens with military honors by United States Marine Corp.

Mr. Miller was born October 12, 1948 in Front Royal, a son of the late Margaret R. Houghton. He was raised by his late grandparents, Pete and Ella Houghton of Front Royal. He was retired as the general superintendent for Flippo Construction Company, Forestville, MD and served in the United States Marines Corp. during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Shenandoah American Legion Post No. 77 and Strasburg Moose Lodge No. 403.

Surviving are his son, Thomas M. Miller, II of Woodstock and two daughters, Cathy E. Adams and husband, Jim of Willow Hill, PA and Holly A. Miller of Strasburg; three brothers, Wayne Miller of Winchester, Richard Miller of Apopka, FL and Kenny Miller of Winchester; five grandchildren, Nikki Miller, Jodi Adams, Jamie Adams, Madison Miller and Grace Miller; also very close family and friends, Ray and Mine Santmyers, Jonathan "Champ" Houghton, John Marsh and Buster.

He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Hank Blakely, Mike Santmyers, Jim Adams, Dylan Bradley, Jake Houghton, Dusty Harbaugh, Sammy Henry and Pete Pomeroy.

The family will receive friends at Stover Funeral Home, 177 N. Holliday St., Strasburg on Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will meet there at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, Inc., 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601.

Beverly A. Houghton October 27, 1944 December 7, 2012 Beverly A. Houghton, 68, formerly of New Milford, Pa., passed away Dec. 7, 2012. Beverly was born Oct. 27, 1944, to Sydney Wilding and Marjorie (Palfrey) Wilding in Jersey City, N.J., and lived in the New Milford area the majority of her life. She worked for GMAC in Binghamton, N.Y. before marrying George F. Houghton, with whom she had two children. Besides being a wonderful mother and homemaker, she worked for seventeen years at Saint John the Evangelist School in Binghamton, then as a housekeeper for hotels in New Milford, State College and Milesburg. She is well known for her homemade bread and sticky buns, crocheted and knitted blankets, hats and sweaters, as well as her sewing creations and braided rugs. She was an avid gardener and loved her daffodils, lilies, pumpkins and tomatoes. She will also be remembered for her outspoken political views. She is survived by her children, son Scott E. Houghton, of Starrucca, Pa. and his sons, Cody, Morgan and Willie; and daughter and son-in-law, Sydney Kathleen M. and Jeremy L. Brown, of Port Matilda. She was preceeded in death by her mother and father, as well as George F. Houghton, her husband of 39 years. At Beverly's request, there will be no public memorial service. Norma Reed Cason Houghton 1940-2012

Norma Reed Cason Houghton, 72, of Pensacola passed away on November 30, 2012. She was critically injured at the age of 4 by a drunk driver and spent the rest of her life suffering from severe epileptic seizures.

Norma was born in Pensacola on June 10, 1940 to Norman Cason and Henritta Reed Cason. She attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL but has lived in the Pensacola area since 1984. She worked as a teacher and with the Federal Civil Service.
