ObituaryMar 14, 2012KEENE - Muriel L. Houghton, 93, of Keene, died March 10, 2012 at Genesis Eldercare – Keene Center, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Goffstown Sept. 20, 1918, the daughter of Arthur and Maude Sylvia (Eaton) Forrest. She grew up in Weare and attended Weare schools. She graduated from Weare High School with the Class of 1936.

In 1937, she married John Ambrose Fuller. They were married for 24 years before his death in 1961.

She worked for OSRAM Sylvania in Hillsborough for over 40 years, retiring in 1980 as a team leader. After her retirement from OSRAM, she moved to Springfield, where she met and married James H. Houghton. They were married for only a year before his death in 1999. In 2007 she moved to Keene, to be closer to her daughter.

She had a love of classical music, attending and watching both opera and theater on regular occasion. She loved to travel, anything from trips around the U.S. to overseas travel to visit her daughter in Thailand, to a trip to Italy.

She began and directed the Weare Congregational Church Choir. She enjoyed horticulture, designing flower and shrub gardens and was reported to truly know her flora and fauna. She was also a talented seamstress, both designing and making many articles of clothing for her family.

She was a member of the Daughters of Rebekahs in Weare for many years.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Zurmuhlen of Keene, Judy Davis and her husband, Glenn E. Davis, of Weare and Sara Lee Parnpichate and her husband, Werapong, of Houston; six grandchildren, Michelle N. Pino and her husband, Anthony, John G. Davis and his partner, Sara Gardner, Lisa Parnpichate and her partner, Roman Rozhavsky, Robin Brown and her partner, Ellis Gerrall, John A. Parnpichate and Adam F. Parnpichate and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Pino, Aida Mae Davis, Arianna Muriel Rozhavsky and Gabriella Anna Rozhavsky.

She was predeceased by her husbands, John A. Fuller and James H. Houghton; her sister, Pauline Marks and a son-in-law, Richard Zurmuhlen.

ObituaryKinzie Houghton Wimer Heart attack takes Kinzie H. Wimer New Sharon and the area was saddened Sunday afternoon at the word of the
death of Kinzie H. Wimer, 58, a lifelong resident of the community. Mr.
Wimer suffered a heart attack at 4:00 a.m. Sunday morning and was entered
at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa at 12:30. Death occurred at 1:05 PM.
Mr. Wimer, with his wife, had been in the Insurance business for 30 years,
having purchased the Perry Wimer Insurance Agency in 1933. He was President
of Prairie Farmers Mutual Insurance Association of Oskaloosa at the time of
his death.
Other than the Insurance business, at which he has served many people in the
area, Mr. Wimer operated a farm northwest of New Sharon where he and Mrs.
Wimer have lived since March 1st, 1939.
He was a member of the Methodist Church of New Sharon since 1922. He was
currently Recording Steward of the Quarterly Conference, Custodian of Legal
Papers and Chairman of the Commission on Christian Social Concerns.
He was also active in several organizations and was recently elected treasurer
of the Mahaska County N.F.O. Chapter. He was a Past Noble Grand of the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows No. 231; Past Chief Patriarch of Poweshiek Encampment
No 15; Past Noble Grand of Clio Rebekah Lodge No. 182; Past Worthy
Patron of Order of Eastern Star; and was a member of Canton John R. Lewis
No. 59 Patriarchs Militant of Grinnell and was a member of Mahaska Lodge No.
336 AF and AM. For 16 years he served as Corresponding Secretary of the N§w
Sharon Alumni Association.
Kinzie Houghton Wimer, son of Perry C. and Jessie Houghton Wimer, was born
August 11, 1904, on the family farm northwest of New Sharon. He departed this
life February 3, 1963, at the Mahaska County Hospital of a coronary at the
age of 58 years, 5 months, and 22 days.
He was united in marriage with Clara Gelene Waldock on February 10, 1932. To
this union one daughter was born. They farmed northwest of New Sharon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Thelma. He is survived
by his wife; one daughter, Marilyn Janet Mitchell; one granddaughter, Marilee
Mitchell, all of West Liberty; two brothers, Kenneth P. of New Sharon and
Alvin A. of Cedar Rapids; one niece, two nephews and a great many friends.
Interment was in the Friends cemetery with arrangements by Hardens. The
Masonic and I.0.0.F, services were conducted

ObituaryAlvin A. Wimer, 80, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Dec. 27, 1993, in Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana, after a short illness.

Survivors include his wife, June; a son, Jerry of Cedar Rapids; four stepsons, Joe Beebe of Union, Kentucky, John Beebe of Duncanville, Texas, Gary Blain of Brooklyn, Iowa, and Marvin Blain of Montezuma; and a stepdaughter, Jean Axtell of West Des Moines.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 13 stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers; a sister; a son, Benny Wimer; and a grandson, David Jon Wimer.

Alvin was born August 31, 1913, in New Sharon to Perry and Jessie Houghton Wimer and married June Beebe on February 14, 1979, in Sarasota, Florida.

Alvin had farmed and was co-owner of Wimer Construction in Cedar Rapids. He also worked for the Cedar Rapids school system and retired from the Linn County Health Department in 1978. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Sarasota.1
