N LOVING MEMORY OF OUR MOTHER, LOUISE HOUGHTON, who passed from this life into the loving arms of Jesus on April 23,2010. She was 82 years old.

Mom was born December 13,1927 in Grady County, Georgia. As a youngster she was raised on a farm and enjoyed picking berries and canning.
She moved to Clearwater, Florida in the early 1940's. She graduated high school and went on to graduate from Business School.
She met and then married Kenneth Houghton from Dunedin,Florida on August 14,1948. She was employed as a bookeeper in the construction industry during the early growth years of condominuims along Clearwater Beach and she was very active in the real estate industry

Upon retirement she enjoyed homemaking, sewing, cooking , playing games and going to church.

She loved her pets Daisy, Joey and Chicky.

We will miss her good cooking and her unconditional love that told us " Everything will be alright".We take comfort in knowing that after many months of hospitalization and complications that she is now at peace in the loving arms of Jesus.

She is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth and a brother, Royce Virgil Vick. She is survived by two daughters, Gail Houghton Raynor and Carol Houghton, two brothers, Russell Clarence Vick and Harold Dale Vick and three sister-in-laws.

Our mother strived to provide a good home, devoted her life to God and raising her two daughters.

A longtime resident of Prairieville, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Ochsner Hospital on the Promise Hospital Wing. He was 60, born April 1, 1950, in Baton Rouge, the eldest of four brothers. Visitation at Faithful United Methodist Church, 14253 La. 431, St. Amant, on Wednesday, April 28, from 5 p.m. until memorial service at 7 p.m., conducted by Bruce L. Worrell, pastor. Survived by his mother, Martha Killingsworth, of Gonzales; three brothers, Charles Houghton and fiancée Adrianne Everett, of Prairieville, Jerry and wife Rae Dell Record Houghton, of Cape Cod, Mass., and Don Houghton, of New Orleans; stepbrother, Steve and wife Kathy Killingsworth, of Lafayette; stepsister, Peggy and husband Dr. Larry Dill, of Austin, Texas; and numerous stepnieces and stepnephews. Also survived by his dog and devoted companion, Coco. Preceded in death by his father, John H. Houghton Sr; and stepfather, Earl Killingsworth. He was a graduate of Broadmoor High School in Baton Rouge. He attended LSU in Baton Rouge and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. He was a retired Cryptological Technician for 22 years in the US Navy.
