Went to be with the Lord April 6, 2008. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Lorenson and husband Gene of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Brian Lorenson and wife Carrie of Spokane, Anders Lorenson of Seattle, WA, Neil Lorenson of Tennessee, Bob Williams and wife Linda of Ontario, OR, Doug Williams and wife Donna also of Ontario,Cindy Hamblen and husband Jerry of Spokane; six great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchi-ldren; and a brother, James Laurie of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Houghton, and a daughter, Patricia Hilby. Martha was born October 17, 1910 in Mystic, IA. She spent her early years in Buffalo, WY, where she married and started her family. They relocated to Spokane in 1943 where she has resided since that time. Martha was a longtime member of the Minnehaha Covenant Church. She was skilled in various types of needlework, and enjoyed camping and traveling for several years. Her greatest joy was her family. Memorial Services will be at 3 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Minnehaha Covenant Church, 4005 East Marietta, Spokane 99217. Private inurnment will be at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
