Paulette Rejane Houghton, 81, of Hagerstown, Md., died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at her home.
Born May 8, 1926, in Cherbourg, France, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Garde. She was the wife of the late A. Will Houghton, who died in 1985. She was the companion of 21 years to Arthur J. Nield of Hagerstown.
Paulette worked for many years at Marcy & Me, Hagerstown. She was a member of Morris Frock Post 42 of the American Legion Auxiliary. Paulette was an avid bridge player and was a member of the Bridge Club of Hagerstown.
In addition to her companion, Paulette is survived by one son, William R. Suzor of Sarasota, Fla; and two sisters, Jinette Garde of Tourlaville, France and Danielle Garde of Antibes, France.
Paulette was preceded in death by one son, Phillipe J. Suzor.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fr. Kevin A. Mueller will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
The visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 2008, at the funeral home with the Christian Wake Service at 6 p.m.
The Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Bryan K. Kenworthy P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences are accepted at www.geraldminnichfuneralhome.com.
