Vernon Russell "Bunny" Hough-ton Jr., 62, of Charlottesville, died Oct. 7, 2004, at a local hospital.
Born Aug. 9, 1942, in Charlottes-ville, he was the son of the late Vernon R. and Kathryn Harlow Houghton.
He was employed as an ortho-pedic tech at UVA, where he would have retired December of this year with 30 years of service; was an avid outdoorsman and a member of Float Fisherman of Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Bar-bara Guinn Houghton of Charlottes-ville; his children, Daniel V. Hough-ton of Albemarle County; Teresa "Terry" L. Scott and her husband, Jim, of Greenwood and Catherine "Elaine" Sexton and her husband, Tommy, of Ruckersville; a sister, Carole Hoadley and her husband, Ron, of Albemarle County; six grandchildren, Cristina Foley and her husband, David, Jimmy Scott II, Jonathan Sexton, Chris Sexton, Tyler Sexton and Kirby Sexton; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan Foley; a niece, Kellie Sav-vides; and a nephew, Travis Hoad-ley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, 2004, at Christ Episcopal Church, with the Rev. Henry N.F. Minich officiating.
Interment will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
Hill & Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Viola B. Houghton, 94, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, at her son's home in Billerica after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late William H. Houghton.

She was born in Newfoundland on Jan. 13, 1913.

She was a former member of the New Colony Baptist Church in Billerica where she was very active in past years.

Mrs. Houghton had also been a member of the Assembly of God Church in Burlington. A United States citizen since 1957, she has resided in Billerica since 1961.

She loved to garden, everything from flowers to vegetables. She also enjoyed cooking and canning her own fruits and vegetables.

She is survived by her two sons, James Houghton and his wife, Gail, in Florida, and Leonard Houghton and his wife, Debra, of Billerica; four grandchildren; her sister, Selina Bishop of Ontario, Canada; her niece, Shirley Price and her husband, Gordon, of Ontario, Canada; her sister-in-law, Edna Houghton in Florida.

A funeral service was held Feb. 20 from the Burns Funeral Home in Billerica. Burial was in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.

ObituaryApr 8, 2012Edith Ethel Houghton Lansing Edith Ethel Houghton, age 95 of Lansing, MI passed away at Lansing Sparrow Hospital on Sunday April 1, 2012. Memorial services will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home in Laingsburg on Saturday April 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jeff Howe will officiate with burial to follow at Rose Cemetery in Bath. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour before the service. Edith was born in Bentley, MI on January 21, 1917, the daughter of Earl Profit & Lorena (Dodge) Spencer. She graduated from Owosso High School in 1936. She married Melvin Houghton on October 14, 1939 in Owosso, MI. He predeceased her October 21, 1982. Edith was a homemaker, raising her four children and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening, cooking and reading. She is survived by her children; David Houghton of Lewiston, MI, Lynn Houghton of Tamarack, MN, June (Robert) Ringle of Laingsburg, MI and Donna (Robert) Anderson of Lansing, MI, 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and her brother Nathan (Marianne) Spencer of Owosso. ObituaryNov 27, 2011Llansing, MI, USA, Janet Sue Houghton, died Sunday, November 20, 2011 after a couragious fight against liver disease. She was born in Gratiot County, MI on August 21, 1943 to Melvin and Mary (Follett) Fisk. Janet was a skilled quilter and member of the Red Hat Society of Sleepy Hollow. After retiring from the State of Michigan and Accident Fund of Michigan in 2006, Janet continued her aspirations to quilt, travel and spend time with family and friends. Janet is survived by her partner, Clyde Welch, her children, Christine (Jeffrey) Dunkel, Laurie (Dean) Ward, Richard Houghton and Joseph (JoEllen) Houghton, her grandchildren, Dale (M'Lissa) Clark, Luther (Shirin) Clark, Stephanie Hubble, Melissa (David) Huff, Corey Ward, Jamie (Drew) Spencer, Sarah (James) Dunkel-Jackson, Robert Ward, Krista (Matt) Stack, Brian Dunkel and Jacob Houghton, her great-grandchildren, Marissa, Preston, James, Colton, Jonah, Candice, Cale and Hazel, her twin sister Janice Rich, her brother, Jack (Leanne) Fisk, several nieces and nephews and many special friends. A graveside ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Perry followed by a celebration of Janet's life directly following the graveside ceremony at Perry Township Hall.
