Nancy Kathleen Houghton

Graveside interment services will be held for Nancy Kathleen Houghton, 63, of Cortez, on Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2000, at the Summit Ridge Cemetery beginning at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Houghton passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colo., on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000. She was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 18, 1936, the daughter of Daniel F. Herron and Bertha M. (Lewis) Herron. Nancy had worked as a pharmacist in this area for many years. She also held membership in the Ute Mountain Gem and Mineral Society.
Surviving Nancy are two stepsons and their wives, John and Donna Houghton, of Oregon, and Scott and Frances Houghton, of Colorado; her stepmother, Helen Herron, of Missouri; and five grandchildren, John Houghton Jr., Trevor Houghton, Jacob Houghton, Annie Houghton, and Scott Houghton Jr. Nancy's husband, George Robert Houghton, preceded her in death in 1993.

St. Joseph, MO, USA, May 29, 2019 Maurice E. Houghton 1924-2019 KINGSTON, Mo. — Maurice E. Houghton, 94, Kingston, passed away on May 27, 2019, at the Hill- crest Manor Nursing Home, Hamilton. He was a life-long Cald- well County, Missouri, res- ident. Maurice was born on Dec. 31, 1924, in Kingston, at home to Albert and Lin- nie (Stone) Houghton. He was a 1942 graduate of the Kingston High School. Maurice was a farmer and served as the Presid- ing Judge (Presiding Com- missioner) of Caldwell County for 23 years serv- ing from 1963-1986. He served in the past as the President of the Kingston School Board, and was a Charter Mem- ber of the Kingston Nazarene Church which was established in 1956. On Jan. 24, 1946, he mar- ried Ruth Evelyn Hill in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded by: his parents; son, Rodney Houghton; four sisters- Kathryn, Elizabeth, Vir- ginia and Louise; and brother, Marion. Survivors: daughter, L. Diane (Keith) Rodwell, Summerville, South Caroli- na; son, Kent Houghton, Kingston; three grandchil- dren, Rodney (Rebecca) Houghton, Curtis (Misty) Houghton, and Shelby Houghton; five great- grandchildren, Alexandra Houghton, Anisten Houghton, Isaac Houghton, Abram Houghton and Sara Houghton; sister, Martha Raines, Hamilton; and nu- merous nieces and nephews. She lived in Kansas City, Mo., for a short time, but had lived in Kingston most of her life.

Born on Feb. 12, 1924, to Walter and Ethel (Smoot) Hill, she had been a bank teller. She was a member of the Kingston Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by son, Rodney, in 1964.

On Jan. 24, 1946, she married Maurice Houghton in Kansas City. He survives of the home.

Other survivors: son, Kenton Houghton, Kingston; daughter, Diane Rodwell, Exton, Pa. two sisters, Mitzi Murray, Kingston; and Barbara White, Nashville, Tenn; three grandchildren, Rod, Curt and Shelby; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, at Kingston Church of the Nazarene. Interment: Kingston Cemetery. Visitation: one hour prior to the service, at the church. Arrangements: Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton, Mo. Memorials: to the church.
