Our loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away at home after suffering a massive heart attack on March 10. Born August 6, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio and raised in Marion, Ohio. Mary Anne graduated from Harding High School (Marion' 39) and attended Cleveland State Univ. She was very proud to have worked summers on a dude ranch in upstate N.Y. Preceded in death by 2nd Lieutenant brother John Houghton who was shot down in action while on a B-29 mission over Toyko, Japan in 1945; and brother James Houghton who died in Sacramento, CA. Mary Anne is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard ''Dick'' Crow, and her three children Mardi Anne Potts, Richard ''Rick'' Crow, and Patti Lee Codiga; their spouses J.B. Potts, Cynthia Crow, and Kim Codiga; and grandchildren Brian & Steve Potts, David & Natalie Crow; Michelle Hayley and Danny Cadiga. She is also survived by sister-in-law Eleanor Houghton and niece Terry Houghton of Aiken S. Carolina; Bill Foster of Marion, Ohio; Betty Bernard of Santa Barbara, CA and many nieces and nephews. Mary Anne was deeply fond of her 12 year old precious American eskimo dog, Hobby. She was a founding member of Lawyers wives of Sacramento, a casual golfer as a member of Del Paso Country Club since 1957, and a member of Easter Seals. Due to the relationship with the family's business of the Houghton Sulky Co. of Marion, she had a great passion for horses. In her younger years she rode horseback extensively. She & Dick owned, raised, and raced many harness horses, both in Eastern U.S. and California. Mary Anne was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. As a homemaker, she devoted herself to her family. Her generous love, uplifting personality, spiritual guidance, positive outlook on life and her caring and unselfish support will be missed by her family, friends, and neighborhood children. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday at 1:30pm at W.F. Gormley & Sons Chapel, 2015 Capitol Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacramento Childrens Home, 2760 Sutterville Road, Sac., CA 95820 or the charity of your choice. Internment is private.
