The son of Carl and Flora Houghton, he was born at Elgin, Minn., April 13, 1917. He married Rachel Lyons at Plain- view, Dec. 15, 1941. He was- a member of the National Holstein Association and the Olmsted County Holstein Association.
Survivors are: his wife; one son, John, Elgin; two grandchildren; his mother; two brothers, Harold, Elgin, and Philip, Pine Island, Minn., and one sister, Mrs. Bernard Grossbach, Mazeppa, Minn. One son, his father, and one brother have died.
