McCoy: "Records of Lorraine Wallace indicate she married John Lamb 20aug1870 in Iowa. GAR marker for John Lamb signaled that Mary was a pensioner. The pension file, however, had been transferred to San Francisco where one Larry
Heacock of 230 Buckingham Way wished to examine it! At the time of her death Mary had 5 surviving children and 9 grandchildren."¹

Keith Cunday notes give birthdate as 14 jan 1844 -- is this perhaps baptismal date instead? Pension file indicates rheumatism, liver trouble, and "malarial poisoning", with reference also to brain fever and kidney disease. Service records show many serious illnesses."¹
