From 1858 to 1862 he wrote articles for the North American Review, Atlantic Monthly, and Christian Examiner. He contributed numerous medical articles to journals. In 1868 he was editor of the Boston Medical and Surgical Journal. He published in 1868 a mongram on "Oesophagotomy". In 1870 he edited the "First Medical and Surgical Report of the Boston City Hospital; in 1877, a second report; and in 1882, a third report.

Augusta Haven died 18 June 1826 age 21
I knew that the Cheever and Haven families were
important in the Boston area (I used to live there),
but I wanted to find out who these 2 women were. I
suspected they were sisters, and indeed I found that
they were, from your project, as well as who their
parents were, and the names of Ann Mary's husband (Dr.
Charles Augustus Cheever) and their 2 children. As
she died only 14 days after the birth of her second
son, I'm assuming she died from complications of
childbirth. Her sister, Augusta, died 2 days before
this baby was born- only 16 days before her older
sister. I'm wondering if there is a way to research
how she died and to confirm my suspicions about the death of Ann Mary?
