Seigneur Jacques d'Avesnes was born about 1150.1 He was the son of Lord Nicholas d'Avesnes and Mathilda de la Roche. Seigneur Jacques d'Avesnes married Adele de Guise, daughter of Seigneur Bernard de Guise and Adelaide (?).2 Seigneur Jacques d'Avesnes died Fell in the Battle of Arsouf, Palestine on the 3rd Crusade on 7 September 1191 at the Battle of Arsof, Palestine.
