     President James Abram Garfield, son of Abraham (Abram) Garfield and Eliza Ballou, was born on 19 November 1831 in Orange, Ohio.¹ President James Abram Garfield was the son of Abraham (Abram) Garfield and Eliza Ballou.¹ President James Abram Garfield married Lucretia Rudolph on 11 November 1858 in Hiram, Portage County, Ohio.¹ President James Abram Garfield died on 19 September 1881 in Elberon, New Jersey, at age 49.¹ He was buried at Lakeview Cementary, Cleveland, Ohio.¹
