     Edgar M. Bartoe was born about 1837.2 He married Susan C. Wait, daughter of Chester Wait and Eveline Shepard, on 20 January 1864 in Otsego, Allegan Co., Michigan.1,3 He died on 21 April 1876 in Bloomingdale, Ban Buren Co., Michigan, from congestion of the lungs.4
     He and Susan C. Wait had the following known children: Edgar (b 8 October 1865), Frederick (b 11 July 1867), Alfredia (b 20 January 1869), Cora (b 11 July 1871), Jackson (b 4 January 1873), Maud (b 13 July 1876).1
