She is shown here as Julieta Lozano, born 12 August 1892, based on her 1919 passport application, which gives her father's name as Carlos Augustus Lozano.2 She's named Julieta Lozano Morse in both her and her husband Anthony's obituaries.4,6 But her surname in her passport application is given as Cushing, and she's also listed with that name in 1920 and 1923 passenger lists, in the 1920 census, and in her 1924 marriage record.7,8,9,3 Where the surname Cushing comes from is unknown. It's apparently not the name of a previous husband. In the 1920 census she's listed with her sister Lucile, who's also listed with the surname Cushing. But, her sister is listed in the 1930 census as Lucia Lozano.10
Her birth date of 12 August 1892 from her passport application is the same as in the 1920 passenger list, and is consistent with her age listed in the 1920 census. Her birth date is given as 12 August 1895 in her marriage record, in the 1923 passenger list, and on her cemetery marker.11
In the 1924 divorce case between her husband Anthony Morse and his second wife Mary Keatinge, testimony showed that he and Julieta, who were married later that year, had been having an affair for a number of years.12 They first met about 191613, and during the divorce proceedings Arcie Lubetkin, a friend of Anthony and Mary, testified that on 31 August 1918 he saw Anthony and a woman later identified as Julia Craine Cushing enter the Hotel Traymore in Atlantic City, and learned they had registered at Mr. and Mrs. Morse.14
In addition, passenger lists show that in 1920 they traveled together to Jamaica, sailing from New York on the Carrillo on 27 January 1920, and returning on the SS Zacapa on 8 March 1920.15,2,7 In 1923 they traveled together to the Bahamas, sailing home on the SS Munamar, leaving Nassau on 11 March and arriving in New York three days later.8
According to his testimony in the divorce case, Lubetkin didn't tell Anthony's wife Mary about what he saw in Atlantic City until the spring of 1923. At Mary's request he then began watching them, and saw them together in their room. On 3 August 1923 he and Mary followed them to Long Island and spied on the couple "through the partly open boudoir window," and gave detailed testimony about "the intimate scenes they saw."16,14
Steve Lubetkin, a cousin of Arcie Lubetkin, has provided some additional interesting information about this case. Although their relationship was no doubt a secret at the time of the divorce proceedings, Arcie had been living with Mary's lawyer William Sullivan for at least four years. They became lifelong partners, traveled together, and are buried together.17,18
Julieta and Anthony are listed in Manhattan, New York Co., New York, in the 1925 census, along with a maid and a butler.19 They moved to Kings Point, Nassau Co., New York, by 1930, and are listed there in the 1930 and 1940 censuses, with three servants in 1930 and two in 1940.20,21 About 1943, after her husband's death, she moved to Darien, Fairfield Co., Connecticut,4 and is listed there in the 1950 census with a cook and a butler.22

She and her husband George are listed in Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, in the 1900 census4, in Mount Vernon, Westchester Co., New York, in the 1905 state census5, and in Bayonne, Hudson Co., New Jersey, in the 1910 census.6 Living with them in 1905 was Peter R. Dimler, age 6, listed as George's adopted son. He's also with them in 1910, as Roy Dimler, age 10, listed as a nephew. (This was Elizabeth's nephew Peter R. Dimler, son of her sister Anna and her husband Peter Dimler, both deceased.)7,8,9
In 1920, after her husband George's disappearance, she's listed in Bayonne as a widow. Roy was still with her, listed as her son with the surname Morse. Also living with her were Raymond and Mildred Morse, listed as her nephew and niece, and three boarders. (Raymond and Mildred are probably actually Raymond and Mildred (Dimler) Alexander, listed with the wrong surname. Mildred was Elizabeth's niece, Roy's brother).10,8,11 In 1930 she's listed in Bayonne as a roomer in the household of William W. Wilson.12 She moved to Cranford Twp., Union Co., New Jersey, about 1935 to live "with her son" (actually nephew) Roy.3

She and her husband Lemuel, and their daughter Margaret, are listed in the household of Orin Skillings in Bayonne, Hudson Co., New Jersey, in the 1905 New Jersey state census.3 They are listed in their own house in Bayonne in the 1910 census. Living with them were Annie J. Berrs, age 44 born in Louisiana, listed as Lemuel's sister-in-law, Marjorie Berrs, age 10 born in Florida, listed as a niece (no doubt Marjorie's daughter), and one servant.9 She and Lemuel are listed in New York City in the 1915 New York state census10, and in Jersey City, Hudson Co., New Jersey, in the 1920 federal census.11 They moved to Westfield, Union Co., New Jersey, about 192412, and are listed there in the 1930 census.13
She is listed on her own in Westfield in the 1940 census, after Lemuel's death.14 She is listed in Manhattan, New York Co., New York, in 1950, and her widowed sister Nelle Norrby was then living with her.15
