He served in the military during World War II, then enrolled as the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, graduating in 1950.2
He worked in newspaper advertising, first with the Winchester Star in Winchester, Virginia, then for 28 years with the Washington Star in Washington, D.C. When the Star folded in 1981, he began his own business, retiring in 1988.2
He and his wife Margaret then moved to Winter Park, Orange Co., Florida,5,2 where he volunteered with the Hospice of Central Florida.2

She was a registered nurse, originally trained at Memorail Hospital in Winchester, Virginia, with post-graduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. For most of her career she worked at various hospitals in Washington, D.C., and northern Virginia, usually in the emergency room. She later became head nurse and office manager for Associated Urologists in Arlington, Virginia.3
She retired in 1988, and she and her husband Geoffrey moved to Winter Park, Orange Co., Florida,3,4 where she served as president of the Maitland Association of Fine Arts, and the Town Club of Winter Park.3

He graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco, California, and in February 1946 enlisted in the Navy for a two-year term. He was released in December 1947, with a rating of pharmacist third class.10,11
At the time of his marriage in 1949 he was attending the University of Virginia in Charlottesville4, and later graduated from Santa Barbara College (now the University of California, Santa Barbara).12
He and his first wife Patricia are listed in the 1950 census at 91 Cold Spring Rd. in Twp. 2, Santa Barbara Co., California, the same house as his mother Cora, but listed as a separate household.13
In June 1953, after a ten-month course at the Coro Foundation in San Francisco designed to train young men and women in municipal and public affairs, he began working as an administrative analyst for the county of Santa Barbara.12 He resigned that position on 1 April 1957 due to ill health, with plans to begin post-graduate work in San Francisco.14

She had attended Fairfax Hall Junior College in Waynesboro, Virginia, before her first marriage1, then went back to school after raising her children, graduating from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Pierce Co., Washington, with a law degree.2 She initially joined a law firm in Tacoma, which later folded9, then became a deputy prosecutor in the family support unit of the Pierce Co. Prosecutor's Office. She retired in 2000.2
