With her family at her side, Helen Thrasher Neely passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014, in Longview, Texas. Funeral services for Mrs. Neely will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Shelley Kral officiating.

Born December 27, 1932, in Henderson, Texas, Mrs. Neely spent all her life in East Texas and was a longtime resident of Lake Cherokee.

For the majority of her professional career, Mrs. Neely worked as bookkeeper and office manager for Key Production Company in Longview. Through this association, she made many good friends in the oil and gas industry.

Mrs. Neely and her husband, Leland, were members of several square and round dance organizations in East Texas. They were round dance instructors for many years and organized the Circle N Rounders Club. The square and round dance community is very close and Mrs. Neely considered it her extended family.

Mrs. Neely was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mildred Thrasher; sisters, Bill Alford and Tody Foley; and brother, Jack Thrasher, all of Henderson.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Leland Neely of Longview; daughter, Loretta Brelsford and husband, Gary, of Katy; son, Dennis “Nick” Neely of Gladewater; grandchildren, Lindsey Brelsford of Katy and Christopher Brelsford of College Station; and brother, Jimmy Thrasher of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Fountainview Estates Assisted Living and Beacon Hospice for the outstanding care she received.

Surrounded by family, Mr. Leland Wade Neely, of Longview, passed away on May 27, 2016, in Longview, Texas.
An Army Veteran, Mr. Neely and his wife Helen were stationed in California and Germany during his service. Mr. Neely spent the majority of his life in East Texas, living in Kilgore and Longview, including many wonderful years at Lake Cherokee.
He and Helen were members of several square and round dance organizations in East Texas. They were round dance instructors for many years and organized the Circle N Rounders Club. The square and round dance community is very close and Mr. Neely considered it his extended family.
Mr. Neely was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Thrasher Neely and parents, Leland A. Neely and Bessie Lou Neely. He is survived by his son, Dennis (Nick) Neely of Gladewater, daughter, Loretta Brelsford and her husband, Gary, of Katy, Texas, grandchildren, Lindsey Brelsford of Houston and Christopher Brelsford of Houston, and sister, Retta Johnson of Flower Mound.
Visitation for Mr. Neely will be held on Monday, May 30, at Rader Funeral Home of Longview from 3-5 PM. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, in Henderson with Reverend Shelley Kral officiating. All funeral arrangements are provided by Rader Funeral Home of Longview.

Services for James Thomas Foley Jr., 88, of Henderson, 11 a.m. today, Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Jim Conway officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. Mr. Foley died Wednesday. He was born July 23, 1914, in Center. He was a highway contractor and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
