HOWARD E. HETRICK, 89 loving dad and grandpa ROCKFORD - Howard E. Hetrick, 89, of Rockford, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 26, 2013, from Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, Rockford. Born May 22, 1923, in Rockford, the son of Floyd and Florence (Johnson) Hetrick. Graduated from Byron High School in 1940. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 25, 1942, serving until February 9, 1946, during WWII. Howard married Elizabeth J. "Betty" Bridgeland on June 5, 1948, in Middle Creek Presbyterian Church, Winnebago. He was a right-of-way engineer for Commonwealth Edison, retiring in 1987. Howard was an active member of First Evangelical Free Church, serving as head usher, its Maranatha Sunday school class and a member of the American Legion Post in Byron. Upon retirement, Betty and Howard enjoyed traveling and camping in their 5th-wheel, besides being snowbirds in Arizona, where he played and coached softball into his mid-seventies. In addition, Howard enjoyed gardening, but his passion was being Dad and Grandpa. Howard is lovingly survived by daughters, Marcie (John) Scott of Oconomowoc, Wis., Lisa (Jim) Pinkerton of San Diego, Calif., Danita "Dee" Kleindl of Winnebago and Brenda (Keith) Cizowski of Brentwood, Tenn; grandchildren, Annie and Rachel Scott, Bethany (John) Kratz, Jimmy (fiancée, Stephanie), Kate and Leslie Pinkerton, P.F.C. Zachery and Andrew Kleindl and Allyson and Jared Cizowski; brother-in-law, Harold Bridgeland of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty, on September 5, 2006 and daughter, Jodie Cae Hetrick on December 26, 1954. Service is at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center Chapel, 3470 N. Alpine Rd., Rockford, with visitation 11 a.m. until service time; the Rev. Chuck Rife, Sr., of First Evangelical Free Church, will officiate. Burial in Middle Creek Cemetery, Winnebago. Arrangements by Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St., Winnebago.      She died on 1 April 1972.1 Shauna Junop was buried in Avondale Woodlawn Cemetery, Avondale district, RM of Vanscoy No. 345, Saskatchewan, Canada, While I was photographing the gravestones, Betty Junop (we had met her a year or so earlier in the antique store/tea shop in Delsile) stopped to check me out. We visited for a few minutes. She confirmed that Shauna was the daughter of Doug and Bev Junop.1
     In the obituary of James Walper Busby who died 14 March 1997, his granddaughter, Shawna Junop was listed as predeceased.2
     In the obituary of Glenn Stewart Junop who died 28 June 2011, his granddaughter, Shauna Junop was listed as predeceased.3

     He was born on 18 October 1861 in New York, USA.1,2 Alternatively, he was born circa 1865 in New York according to the 1910 census.3 Alva married Julia D Abbey in 1881. She was the first wife of Alva.4 Alva married Clara Hamilton before 1887. I infer that they were: a) married and b) it was prior to the birth of their son Archie.5 Alva married Agnes Mary Tapp circa 1899. They were married for a year at the time of the 1900 census, and married 10 years at the time of the 1910 census. It was his 3rd marriage and her 1st.3,2
     He died on 27 August 1945 at age 83.1 Alva Emmett Lucas was buried in Plot L/49, Forest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia, Chautauqua County, New York, USA.1      His estate was probated on 12 September 1945 in Surrogate Court, Dunkirk, Chautauqua County, New York, USA; leaving an estate of $15,000 real property and $5,000 personal property in trust with the income and principal (as necessary) to his wife, Mrs Agnes Lucas. Upon her death, the estate passed in equal shares to their grandchildren Roger A Lucas and Hilma Walker.6

Mrs. Mood was a member of the Pricedale Union Church and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 205 of Monessen. She also loved quilting, needlepoint, and all forms of hand crafts.
