Pembroke
     ...Another much respected resident of this town passed away on Thursday last in the person of Mr. Archibald D. McVean, Renfrew street. The deceased a was sixty-five years of age, and leaves an up-grown family. Mr. McVean was born in Montague, a few miles from Smith's Falls, and learned the trade of waggon-making in Carleton Place, afterwards moving to Pembroke, where he ran a livery stable business for twenty-eight years. He gave up that business a few years ago and I worked for Mr. Alex. Barr at waggon-making until compelled to leave on account of falling health. Mr. McVean was a prominent member of I. 0. 0. F., under whose directions the. funeral took place Sunday afternoon to the Baptist cemetery. Besides a large attendance of friends here there were friends of the late Mr. McVean from Renfrew and Eganville.2
