Canadian Military Service:

     Lieutenant John McIntyre Airth M.C. began military service on 18 November 1915 at the age of 34 years, 1 month and 25 days at Renfrew, Horton Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada.. He had been in the 42nd regiment of the militia for 15 years. He was a farmer prior to his enlistment.8
     On 18 February 1918, at France, he was awarded the Military Cross (London Gazette 30530). He was severely wounded (machine gun bullet wound to right shoulder) the following day while returning from the lines with a working party.4 Lieutenant John McIntyre Airth M.C. ended his military service on compationate grounds on 5 June 1918
