He was also age 49 in 1881 census and 78 in 1911 census.3,4,5,6 Alternatively, he may have been born on 4 January 1835 at Germany according to the 1901 census.7 Friedrich married Henrietta Splottstosser before 1858 at Germany.8,1,7,6
     Friedrich Hartwig died on 21 January 1915 at Hagarty Twp., Renfrew County, Ontario, Canada, at age 82 died of a Postial Obstruction which he had had for 40 years. Age at the time of death was 82 years 2 months and 14 days.. The informant was August Herman Hartwig.1,4

Note that their daughter Myrtle was not included in this enumeration, so was born after this date.4
