The funeral of Mrs. Christina Rorke, a beloved pioneer of Rockhaven, took place in the cemetery there last week, a large number of friends being present.
The late Mrs. Rorke, who died on May 3, after a lingering illness, was 78 years of age. She was born in Ontario, and in 1878 married Richard Rorke, of Heathcote, who died in 1905. It was a year later that Mrs. Rorke came west with her family, settling in the Rockhaven district, where she did much to assist the early settlers, nearly all of whom were young homesteaders- Mrs. Rorke was of Quaker faith. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, T. F, C. K., and N. F. Rorke, all of Rockhaven, and Mrs. C. A. Metcalf of Saskatoon.
Pall bearers at the funeral, which was the occasion of many floral tributes, were all old friends from the East. They were Charles Clark, James Wallace, Ed. Brocklebank, D. C. McWhirtcr, William Roby, and Malcolm Dewar.8
