Richard (Dick) Haughton, 48, director of the Kansas Sport. Boat and Travel Show, died Monday in a Denver hospital.
As a youth, Haughton was widely known for a 12-piece dance band he organized while attending Wichita East High
School. By the time he graduated from Wichita University in 1951, the band had evolved Haughton
into a nationally known 21-piece "progressive" orchestra which toured in the Midwest and was reviewed in national music publications, including Downbeat.
After 3 1/2 years as a Navy officer Haughton became a research analyst for Continental Airlines in Denver.
In 1960. he joined Industrial Expositions Inc , which had offices in Wichita and Denver, and produced the Kansas and Colorado and Oklahoma sport, boat, and travel show. A year later, he purchased control of the company from Robert Langenwalter and Harry Crow and became its president.
The company expanded to produce seven expositions a year in Kansas. Colorado and Oklahoma Haughton traveled to Wichita every spring to promote the sport, boat and travel show here. He was a past director of the Denver Chamber of Commerce and Colorado Visitors Bureau.
A memorial service will be at 9 a m. today in Arvada (Colo.) Presbyterian Church, where a memorial has been established Survivors include his widow, Jacqueline B., sons Jeff and Doug, daughter Linda Sue. all at home in Lakewood. Colo., and a sister. Marjory Hellebust of Trambull. Conn

Jacqueline (Jacquie) B. Haughton, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Collier Hospice Center in Wheat Ridge, CO. She was born November 11, 1929 in Memphis, Tennessee to D. Irene Miller and Dr. Charles H. Miller, Jr. At a young age her family moved to Wisconsin. She graduated with a degree in Early Childhood Development from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. As a young adult she later moved to Bethesda, Maryland, where she would eventually meet and marry the love of her life, Richard Alan Haughton. An educator and business woman, Jacquie Haughton had a lifelong dedication to many causes in her community. Her key education contributions included serving as an elected member to the State Board of Education for the State of Colorado as well as being a 16-year Board member of the Red Rocks Community College Foundation. Her largest accomplishment was raising a family as single mother while concurrently being Chairman, President and CEO of Industrial Expositions, Inc. that produced over 200 consumer shows in Colorado and Kansas during her career. Additionally, she served on the Lutheran Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and the Board of Lakeside National Bank. She had strong commitment to the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., where she served as a Deacon and Elder. She had a 50+ year commitment to the P.E.O. sisterhood and treasured the many life-long relationships with her P.E.O. sisters. She served on the Boards of Easter Seals, Girl Scouts, and the Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau. Jacquie was also one of the first female members of the Denver Rotary Club, which included recognition as a Paul Harris fellow. A loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Jacquie is survived by her children Jeff Haughton (Betsy) of North Carolina; Doug Haughton (Diane) of Portland, Oregon and Linda Card (Greg), Colorado; six beloved grandchildren who she adored - Elizabeth(Ellie) Haughton and Grace Haughton(NC), Rachel Haughton and Lucas Haughton(OR), Ethan Card and Andy Card(CO), and God daughter, Elsa Helmick Wolff; brother, Karl Miller (Utah) and sister-in-law Susan Miller(WI). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Above all, Jacquie cherished her family. In addition to her parents, Jacquie is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Alan Haughton and her brother, Dr. Charles H. Miller lll. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be on Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary and Cemetery at 2pm. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to long term caregiver Debbie Williams and all the friends and staff who cared for her during her final years at Covenant Village, Gardens on Quail, Lutheran Hospital and the Collier Hospice Center.In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family has designated the Red Rocks Community College Foundation for memorial contributions. ST. JOHNSVILLE, N.Y. — Services for Nellie M. Satterlee Haughton, 89 of Wilmington, N.C., were Sept. 25 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in St. Johnsville with the Rev. Pascal Iannotti officiating.
Burial was in St. Johnsville Cemetery. Mrs. Haughton died Sept. 21 at Pinnacle Care Center in Wilmington. She was born June 10,1898, in St. Johnsville. She married Claud A. Haughton Sept. 15,1920, in St. Johnsville. He died in 1955. Mrs. Haughton was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary of Odessa. Survivors include a daughter, Jane Anne Huffman of Odessa ; two sons, Robert J. Haughton of Wilton, Conn., and Milton A. Haughton of Wilmington; a brother, James Satterlee of Gloversville, N.Y; 19 grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren

ObituaryMilton A. "Matt" Haughton, 80, died July 6, 2009, at home in Wilmington, NC, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 17, 1929, in Little Falls, New York, he was a son of Claud Haughton and Nellie Mae Satterlee. Enlisting at the age of 17, Milt served proudly for 2 years in the United States Marine Corps.
He then attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he received his degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and played on the 1952 NCAA National Championship Lacrosse team. Milt's career with DuPont took him and his family to New Jersey, Texas and Delaware, before moving to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1971, where he retired in 1985. He was a founding member of St. Mark Catholic Church, where he was active in the Bishop's Annual Appeal for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Theresa Miner (Terri) Haughton; brother Robert J. Haughton and his wife, Anne, of Palm Coast, FL; sister Jane Anne Dial and husband, Keith, of Odessa, TX; daughter Margaret Lynn (Peggy) Christmas and husband, Robert; sons: Steven L. Haughton; Robert A. Haughton and wife, Carole; Thomas J. Haughton and wife, Tana; William J. Haughton and wife, Nina; David M. Haughton and wife, Debora; Richard P. Haughton; and Christopher M. Haughton and wife, Julie. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, John M. Haughton and Edward P. Haughton. Pallbearers will be grandsons Robert Christmas Jr., Michael Christmas, David Haughton, Matthew Christmas, Connor Haughton, and Kevin Christmas.
