HELEN LUCILLE HAUGHTON

Helen passed away quietly in her sleep after an extended illness. In her life, Helen was many things. Her first career and passion was fashion design. She worked and lived in New York City and was well respected in the design industry. Helen returned to her birthplace of Greenup, Illinois in the 1950's after the death of her beloved husband Mark Manlove. There she began her second career of teaching fashion design at Eastern Illinois University. Helen retired early to care for her aging parents, Bertha Best Haughton and Nicho las John Haughton, both of whom precede her in death. Helen moved to CA in the mid 70's. She traveled extensively and has been to 48 of the states, as well as, China, Thailand and the Bahamas. Helen enjoyed painting, weaving, sewing and all kinds of crafts. Perhaps her greatest pleasure was reading. Helen is survived hy her great-niece, Mary Ruth Todd and great nephew, George Todd. Helen will be missed. Safe journey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VNA Hospice, 150 W. 1st St., Suite 270, Claremont, CA 91711-0908. Arrangements entrusted to Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, San Bernardino, California.
