MANCHESTER - Aldia A. Houghton, 86, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Catholic Medical Center, with her family by her side.

She was born on April 14, 1926, in Winchendon, Mass., to Francis Lafortune and Yvonne (Labrie) Lafortune.

Aldia worked for many years as a waitress and hostess at several Manchester restaurants, retiring in 1987.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Laurence Joseph Houghton Sr. of Manchester. Her family includes her children, Patricia Bolack and her husband, Charles, of Manchester, James Houghton and his wife, Christine, of Goffstown, Judith Hastings of Manchester, Deborah Steady and her husband, Paul, of Lincoln, and Laurence J. Houghton Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Manchester,

She was most proud of her grandchildren, Stephen, Scott and Shane Cunan, Patrick and Christopher Houghton, Ross Roberge, Dylan Hastings, Jodi Lalos, Kara Vopalensky and Shannon Houghton, as well as her many great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Norman, Alfred and Robert Lafortune; three sisters, Yvonne Laferte, Jeanne Goodwin and Shirley Nunley; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, Webster Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Catherine's School, 206 North St., Manchester 03104.
