Obituary

Evelyn "Lynn" Houghton, 66, of The Woodlands, Texas passed away July 11, 2011 at her home. She was born May 2, 1945 in Pisgah, Ohio to the late Edward and Evelyn Esslinger. She is also preceded in death by her sister Mary Elkins. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Robert "Bob" Houghton; daughter Caron Flynn and husband Jamie; step-daughter Christy Weng; grandson Riley Flynn; step-grandsons Darrin, Jason and Garrett Weng; along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Lynn was a registered nurse and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was in the plasma industry for 35 years and currently employed as director of training for Grifols Academy in Phoenix, Arizona, a plasma pheresis company. Lynn was a former president of American Plasma in The Woodlands, Texas. Her favorite hobbies were photography and traveling.
A memorial service is set for 10:00 A.M., Saturday August 6, 2011 in the Chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, www.lls.org.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

The someone at my side says: "There, she is gone!"

"Gone where?"

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear the load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when somebody at my side says: "There, she is gone!" There are other eyes watching her coming and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: "Here she comes!"

And that is dying.
