Lynn Molaski: I sent for the Pension papers of Abram Packard and found a marriage to Almina Houghton on August 3, 1867 in Monroe County, MI at the home of William Houghton. Harry Houghton and Frank Packard were witnesses. also there was a letter from George M. Packard stating he was his brother.
In the 1850 Census in Huron County, OH is Elijah and Adaline Packard with children. If you have this list of children you will see how it all connects. Abram is listed under Francis A. Packard. The parents disappeared before 1860. Ann is living with Harriet and William in 1860 and Frank is living with Harriet and William in 1870.
All of the Packard children ended up in Lenawee or Monroe County, MI. I am 99.9% sure all of this is connected.²

Biography

Harriet married William Houghton. They came to Michigan from Ohio with son Harry after 1860. Her brother Abram married Almina, daughter of William. Siblings: James H (Henry), Jared (Jerry), Abijah, Ann Marie Bartholomew, Abram (born Francis A.) Rhoda Goodall, George M and Frank D. Parents: Elijah And Evaline (Woodruff) Packard.
