Lyda Lee Houghton, a great mother, died July 21, 1998, at the age of 71.

Lee was born the youngest of four children in Baltimore, Md., and had lived in Richfield since 1960. She dedicated her life to her children; grandchildren; great grandchildren; and the children with the Cuyahoga County Board of Mental Retardation.

Preceded in death by her husband, Bern, she is survived by her children, Linda L. (Ernie) Ertel, David M. Houghton, Dan L. (Sherry) Houghton, Karen E. (Bob) Hooper, Mary G. (Russ) Alderman, Paul B. Houghton; grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Julie, Kelly, Phillip, Samuel, Jeff, Erika, and Hanah; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Brianna; sister, Melba (Jerry) Leger.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. SATURDAY at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., Pastor Gary Arndt officiating. Inurnment at Fairview Cemetery in Richfield. Friends may call at the funeral home FRIDAY, 6 to 8 p.m. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the ALS Foundation, 4012 Litchfield Loop, Stow 44224. (Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 867-4141.)³
