Acton, Middlesex Co., MA, USA, ACTON - Ruth E. Hammond, 98, of Seymour, formally of Acton, Maine, passed away early Sunday morning, April 28, 2013, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born on Feb. 21, 1915, the daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth (Thomson) Houghton.

In October of 2000, Ruth moved to Wisconsin after the passing of her third husband to be closer to her sons.

She was a member of Seymour United Methodist Church.

Ruth was a very family-oriented woman.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald (Kay) Meek, of Sobieski, and David (Judy) Meek, of Pulaski; six grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Edwin J. Meek, Paul Gerrish and Edward Hammond, and one brother, Gordon Houghton.

Private family services will be held. Burial will take place in Milton Mills, N.H.

Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family with arrangements.
