Benjamin Simonds may have been there as early as 1777). Joel Sr. was b. 1744, d. 1821, his wife Patience Hall b. 1746, d. 1832. Joseph would have been born about 1762. There is a possible match in the 1790-1800 censuses, Hartland, Windsor Co., VT."¹
