1850 - res Columbus Co., NC. Delilah appears by name in the 1850 census as Head of Household, age 50, with daughter Helen age 20, son Bryant J. age 18 and female Telathy Fowler age 8.

Some have suggested that the presence in the 1850 census of a young child with surname Fowler might indicate that Delilah may have come from a Fowler family and that Delilah’s maiden name might be Fowler. This is only conjecture but the 1830 census of Jesse Hinson does show a family entry with surname Fowler reasonably close to the Jesse Hinson entry.
