This Catharine, sometimes referred to by the name Catharine Barbara, b. or bp. 28 Apr 1771, has been said to be a daughter of Anthony and Margaret Schneider. Based on the transcriptions of the records of the Dryland Lutheran and Reformed church in Northampton co., PA, this is probably NOT TRUE! Although her birth corresponds to a period of time when Anthony and Margaret Schneider were having children and baptizing them in the Drylands church, the transcribed records identify the parents as Anthony and Margaret Schweitzer! Furthermore, the baptism was conducted in the Reformed congregation of this church; “our” Anthony SCHNEIDER was of the Lutheran congregation of the church.
