This family lived first st the Red Mill, between Poughkeepsie and Wappingers Falls, then went to Ohio in the mid-1830s, to Tennesee in 1850, in Crossville, Cumberland Co., TN in 1860, and to Clinton, MO in 1869. Finally George and his wife (Mary) went to Colorado Springs, CO about 1878 to retire and brought three of his children with him, Catherine, George A. and Edward Morton, the last two figuring prominently in the history of Cripple Creek, site of the famous 1890s gold rush.
