551Dobbs ceased to exist as a county in 1791.
10 Apr 1799 Joseph Hinson, in his will, identifies himself as of Robeson County
547##### It is possible, perhaps even probable, (See Research Note) that, in the late 1790s, Joseph HINSON moved from Dobbs Co., NC to Robeson Co., NC with his wife Raney or Rainey , one male age 16-25 and three other female members of his family. This is the same general time frame in which James HINSON may have moved from Wayne Co., NC to Robeson Co., NC with his wife and sons Jesse and Joshua.
The will
547 of Joseph Hinson, dated 1799, named his wife Raney, and two daughters Charity and Rachel. Joseph HINSON died in or before 1799. His will was probated in Robeson Co., NC in 1799 and Raney, Charity, and Rachel were Beneficiaries and Executors.
544,545Rainey Hinson appears in the 1800 census for Fayetteville, Robeson Co., NC as head of household with 1 male (16-25), 1 female (<10), 2 females (16-25, probably Charity and Rachel), and 1 female (>45, probably Rainey herself)

Did Joseph HINSON of Dobbs Co., NC move from Dobbs Co. to Robeson Co. NC in the late 179)’s?
In 1790, Joseph HINSON appears in the 1790 census for Dobbs Co., NC with himself as the only male and 4 females.
551 His census entry is adjacent to those for his (presumed) brothers William and Jesse. Joseph HINSON’s other (presumed) brothers James and Elijah HINSON appear in the 1790 census for Wayne Co., NC adjacent to each other. Note that Wayne Co., was formed from Dobbs Co.
Joseph HINSON does not appear in the 1800 census for Dobbs Co., NC but a Joseph HINSON died circa 1799 and his will was probated in Robeson Co. in 1799. In his will,
547 he named his wife Raney HINSON and his two daughters Charity and Rachel as the Beneficiaries and Executrix.
545 546 The fact that he named females as Executrix is evidence that there was no male in his family - the same as the Joseph HINSON of Dobbs Co., NC in 1790. A Jessee HINSON was a witness to the will.
The only other Joseph HINSON in North Carolina in the 1790 census is a Joseph Henson in Pendleton, NC. Could he have been the Joseph HINSON in Robeson Co., NC? The answer is NO because the 1800 and 1810 census showed Joseph HENSON still in Randolph Co., NC.
There is evidence that Joseph HINSON’s (presumed) brother, James HINSON, together with his family, moved from Dobbs Co. to Robeson Co., NC in the late 1790s (See Research note under James HINSON).
Therefore, it is reasonable, and further supported by some evidence, that Joseph HINSON, (presumed) brother of James HINSON, also moved from Dobbs Co. to Robeson Co.
