Notes for Charles LEE Sr.
Moved to Goochland Co., VA about 1741 to live about 8 miles from Farmville, VA on the property given to him by his brother-in-law, Joseph Dabbs "for love and affection" on 17 November 1741.
338 Charles and Anne sold this property in 1743.
339 During the American Revolution, Charles Lee and his family lived in Southam Parish (which was in Cumberland Co. until 1777 and in Powhatan Co., VA, USA thereafter), on property near Brown’s Church. In Southam Parish, the amount of land owned by each parishioner was determined annually by the amount of money the parishioner paid to the church. The boundaries were established by an order of the Vestry of the parish and were “processioned” (walked off by people designated in the order).
Military notes for Charles LEE Sr.
Recognized by DAR in the Patriot Index:

The lawn of the Lee homestead was a muster ground for soldiers. There was an armory established on or near by this place and Charles Lee, being a silversmith, used his ingenuity in repairing arms for the Revolution.
