     She was probably one of the two females under age 5 listed in the household of her father, John J. Buster, in the 1840 Federal Census of Charlotte Co., VirginiaG.12 She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Charlotte Co., VirginiaG, in the household of her parents, John J. Buster and Jane Elizabeth Thomas.13
     She moved to Halifax Co.G with her parents before 1860. She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Halifax Co., VirginiaG, in the household of her parents.14
     Frances married William Edward Britton, son of Isham H. Britton and Mary W. Toot, on 30 Jan 1866 in Halifax Co., VirginiaG, and older sister of the woman his younger brother Andrew had married eight years before.7,8,9
     Frances and William appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., VirginiaG, enumerated 13 Sep 1870, reporting personal estate of $600. Their son Henry was listed as living with them as were his children Mary, Maria, Henrietta, and Sarah by his prior marriage.15

     Her mother died on 29 Nov 1858, when Mary was 6 years old.7,8 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Scottsburg, Halifax Co., VirginiaG, in the household of her father, William Edward Britton.9
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., VirginiaG, in the household of her father and stepmother, Frances A. Buster.10 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia, G in the household of her father.11
     Mary was named an heir in the will of her father, dated 16 Feb 1881 in Halifax Co., VirginiaG, in which she was to receive a one-third share in the proceeds of the sale of his real and personal property.12
     Her father's personal property was sold 22 Apr 1881. Mary purchased many of the household items and furniture, the wagon, many of the farm tools, and a black mule at the sale.13
     Mary appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia G, enumerated 26 Jun 1900, reporting she owned her home. Also listed in the household were Eliza and William Edward Perkins, ages 16 and 14 respectively, children of her late sister Sarah.14

Henrietta Carrington Britton was born about 19 Feb 1857 in Charlotte Co., VirginiaG.4,5
     Her mother died on 29 Nov 1858, when Henrietta was one year old.11,12 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Scottsburg, Halifax Co., VirginiaG, in the household of her father, William Edward Britton.13
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Halifax Courthouse, Halifax Co., VirginiaG, in the household of her father and stepmother, Frances A. Buster.14
     Henrietta married Lafayette Hopkins Fallen, son of James E. Fallen and Elizabeth J. Tharp, about 1877. He was the older brother of the woman her uncle, Melcajas A. Britton, would marry a year later.6,7,8
     Henrietta and Lafayette appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia G, enumerated 4 Jul 1880. Their son Paul was listed as living with them.15
     Henrietta was named an heir in the will of her father, dated 16 Feb 1881 in Halifax Co., VirginiaG, to received one dollar. Her eldest son Paul was to receive $100.16
     Henrietta appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia G, enumerated 20 Jun 1900, reporting she rented her home. Her children William, George, Mary, and Minnie were listed as living with her. Her older son Paul, his wife and their infant daughter were apparently living close by as they were listed as the next household. Lafayette was not listed in the household and has not been found elsewhere. It is unclear whether he was actually living someplace else at the time, or was simply omitted in error.17
     Henrietta and Lafayette appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia G, enumerated 19 Apr 1910, reporting they rented their farm. Their daughter Minnie was listed as living with them. Their sons George, with his wife and daughter, and William, with his wife and two children, were apparently living close by was they were listed as the second and third preceding households.18
     Henrietta and Lafayette appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia G, enumerated 31 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their grandchildren, Hermon and Thelma Fallen, children of their son William, were listed as living with them.19
     Her husband died on 11 Feb 1920 in Roanoke, Halifax Co., VirginiaG.20 She was buried on 23 Jun 1921 in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Nathalie, Halifax Co., VirginiaG.9
     Henrietta died on 23 Jun 1921 in Roanoke, Halifax Co., VirginiaG, at age ~64.10

     She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Roanoke, Halifax Co., Virginia, G in the household of her father. Her son Conrad does not appear in the household, nor had he been found elsewhere. It seems likely he was actually living there and omitted from the census record somehow, but there is no way to know if that is correct.13
     Sarah was named an heir in the will of her father, dated 16 Feb 1881 in Halifax Co., VirginiaG, to received one dollar. Her son Conrad was to receive a one-third share in the proceeds of the sale of his real and personal property.14
     Sarah married William S. Purkins, son of George W. Purkins and Sarah J. Marton, on 2 Jun 1881 in Halifax Co., VirginiaG.3
     Sarah died between 1887, when her daughter Mary was born, and 1900, when her husband was living with his cousin and shown as widowed, and her two older children were living with her sister Mary. It might be supposed she and Mary died soon after the child's birth, but no record of her death or that of the daughter has been found. The Halifax Co. death records from 1887 to 1896 have been searched and neither has been found in those or any other records.8
