  5. Mary Schureman reports Israel's birth place as Green Valley, where he lived and raised his children. But the 1880 census shows he and his parents were born in New Jersey. There were also several other Schureman families in the neighborhood, with all the adult generation shown as born in New Jersey. I believe Mary's information is error, probably based on the assumption that since he lived most of his life in Tazewell Co. he was born there.
