  1. Catherine Sander Schott letters to Martha Cobb Fenker, letter of 8 Mar 1976, shows name as Carl, second son, who returned to Germany after the death of his father. However no other records show a son Carl, and Heinrich is shown by parish records to have emigrated to the US in 1866, and then to have married in Lemförde shortly after Carl's death. So Carl may have been the name he was known by in the family, and Catherine was surely mistaken about the birth order.
