Thomas Lincoln

Thomas Lincoln was born on 6 January 1778 in Augusta County, Virginia.¹ He was the son of Abraham Lincoln and Bathsheba Herring.¹ Thomas Lincoln married Nancy Hanks, daughter of James (or Abraham) Hanks and Lucy Shipley, on 12 June 1806 in Washington County, Kentucky.¹ Thomas Lincoln died on 17 January 1851 in Farmington, Illinois, at age 73.¹
Thomas's father Abraham Lincoln died in May 1786 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.¹ Thomas Lincoln became the father of President Abraham Lincoln on 12 February 1809.¹ Thomas Lincoln became a widower with the death of his wife, Nancy Hanks on 5 October 1818 in Gentryville, Indiana, at age 34.¹ Thomas's mother Bathsheba Herring died about 1836.¹ Thomas's son was married at wedding of President Abraham Lincoln and Mary Ann Todd on 4 November 1842 in Springfield, Sangammon County, Illinois.¹
