John Newgate was born before 1588 in Horningsheath, Suffolk, England.1 He was the son of Philip Newgate and Joan Hoo.1 John Newgate married first Lydia (?) before 1613.1 John Newgate married second Thomasine Hayes on 1 November 1620 in All Hallows, London Wall, London, England.1 John Newgate married third Hannah (?) before 1627.1 John Newgate died on 4 September 1665 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, Original source for this date is unknown.1 His estate was probated on 8 September 1665.1
He was a hatter, feltmaker, haberdasher.1 He became the father of Joseph Newgate say 1630.1 John Newgate and Hannah (?) immigrated in 1633 to in Boston, (now Suffolk County), Massachusetts Bay Colony; probably on the 'Mary & Jane' or possible the 'William & Jane.1' John Newgate became the father of Hannah Newgate on 1 August 1633.2 John's daughter Hannah Newgate died in January 1633/34 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.2 John Newgate became the father of Hannah Newgate on 28 June 1635.1 John's daughter was married at wedding of Hannah Newgate and Simon Linde on 22 February 1652/53 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 John's son Joseph Newgate died on 14 December 1658 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 John Newgate left a will on 8 May 1665.1
