Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) was born on 23 April 1809 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 He was the son of Grand Duke Ludwig II (of Hesse) and Princess Wilhelmine Luise (of Baden).1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) was christened on 24 May 1809 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 He married Elizabeth (of Prussia).1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) died on 20 March 1877 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt, at age 67.1 He was buried on 24 March 1877 at Rosenhohe Mausoleum Bei Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1

Updated September 14, 2001.1 Karl Wilhelm Ludwig's mother Princess Wilhelmine Luise (of Baden) died on 27 January 1836 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) became the father of Grand Duke Louis (of Hesse) on 12 September 1837.1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) became the father of Henry (of Hesse) in 1838.1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) became the father of Anne (of Hesse) in 1843.1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) became the father of William (of Hesse) in 1845.1 Karl Wilhelm Ludwig's father Grand Duke Ludwig II (of Hesse) died on 16 June 1848 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 Karl Wilhelm Ludwig's son was married at wedding of Grand Duke Louis (of Hesse) and Princess Alice Maud Mary (of Saxe-Coburg) in 1862 in Isle Of Wright, England.1,2 Karl Wilhelm Ludwig's daughter Anne (of Hesse) died in 1865.1
