Sophia Charlotte (of Mecklenburg-Strelitz) was born on 19 May 1744 in Mirow, Mecklenburg-Strelitz, Germany.2 She was the daughter of Charles Louis Frederick (of Mecklenburg) and Duchess Elizabeth Albertin.2 Sophia Charlotte (of Mecklenburg-Strelitz) married King George III Hanover of England, son of Prince Frederick Lewis (of Wales) and Augusta (of Saxe-Gotha-Altenberg), on 8 September 1761 at St. James's Palace.2,1 Sophia Charlotte (of Mecklenburg-Strelitz) died on 17 November 1818 at Kew Palace, Kew, at age 74.2 She was buried in Windsor, Berkshire, England.2
