Sophia Dorothea Brunswick was born on 10 September 1666 in Celle, Hannover, Prussia.1 She was the daughter of Duke Georg Wilhelm (of Brunswick Celle) and Elbeonore Desmier D' Olbreuse.3,1 Sophia Dorothea Brunswick married King George I (of England), son of Prince Ernst Augustus I (of Brunswick) and Sophia (?), on 21 November 1682 in Celle, Hannover, Prussia.1,3 Sophia Dorothea Brunswick and King George I (of England) were divorced in 1692; under Hanoverian Law.3 Sophia Dorothea Brunswick and Philipp Christoff von Königsmark had a relationship.1 Sophia Dorothea Brunswick and King George I (of England) were divorced in 1694.1 Sophia Dorothea Brunswick died on 13 November 1726 at Schloss Ahlden, Hannover, Prussia, at age 60.1 She was buried in Celle, Hannover, Prussia.1
