Joshua Underhill was born on 7 July 1765 in New York.2,3 He was the son of Isaac Underhill and Sarah Field.2 Joshua Underhill is also recorded born on 9 July 1765.4 He married Mary Sutton, daughter of Richard Sutton and Elizabeth Quimby, on 13 October 1789 or 19 November 1789; Wood says 13 Oct, Underhill says 19 Nov.2,4 Joshua Underhill died on 14 February 1839 at his home No. 40 Market Street, New York City, New York, at age 73.2,5,4 He was buried in Friends' Burying Ground (Now part of Prospect Park), Brooklyn, New York City, New York.4 He was reburied in 1888 in Woodlawn Cemetary, Bronx, New York City, New York.4
